He delivered a packed lecture on securing supply chains at the Győr Science Park on 9 April. According to the researcher, the institution works closely with industrial players in an exemplary manner, assisting students in their practical training.
This year's Digital Agricultural Fair, one of the most important agricultural events in the region, was held at the Széchenyi István University's Albert Kázmér Faculty of Mosonmagyaróvár, on 10 April. Among the exhibitors were the most important market players of the sector, as well as the research and educational units of the university. The aim of the programme is to enable the future generation of young farmers to learn about and apply digitisation and precision farming solutions to the whole food production process.

Széchenyi István University is striving to become the number one higher education institution in Hungary in the field of motor sport. In this spirit, the Uni Győr WMS go-kart team was established at the beginning of the year, which was announced at a press conference on 28 March. The Hungarian University-College National Championship or MEFOB Festival, will be held in Győr, Hungary, with more than a thousand participants in thirteen sports. Orsolya Lukács and Márk Szalay, students of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics of Széchenyi István University, successfully participated in the 24th International Accounting Week in Lódz, Poland, where nearly 90 students from 15 European countries competed in teams of four. Dr Bihari Mihály, a jurist, Doctor of Political Science, Professor Emeritus of Széchenyi István University, and former President of the Constitutional Court, received the Széchenyi Award for his outstanding role in establishing Hungarian political science education, significant contributions in the fields of science, teaching, and educational administration, as well as for his foundational role in organizing Law Education at the university level in Győr.
In a dignified ceremony, Széchenyi István University commemorated the events of the 1848–49 Revolution and War of Independence. During the event, doctoral degrees were conferred, and prestigious awards were presented to individuals whose work has significantly contributed to the development of the institution.
The University Library and Archives of Széchenyi István University, which turns 50 this year, is constantly developing and expanding its services. In line with the University's strategic goals, it supports academic research and international achievements, and creates a community space for university citizens. As a result, the number of database users doubled in 2023 and the number of participants in the publication support programme increased tenfold in two years.
Defining a framework for teaching arts and culture was the theme of the UNESCO World Conference on Arts and Culture in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in February. Industry 5.0 innovation and technological transition as well as industrial upgrading is the theme of the programme of Széchenyi István University, which is organised within the framework of the Smart Manufacturing Festival, a tradition-creating event on the campus of the University of Győr and in the former biscuit factory, the Győr Innovation Park. On 6 March, visitors will be able to take a look at the world of digitalisation innovations through exciting presentations and lab visits.
The series of graduation ceremonies at Széchenyi István University continued on 23 February. In the morning, 123 students received their degrees at the joint ceremony of the Audi Hungaria Faculty of Automotive Engineering and the Albert Kázmér Faculty of Mosonmagyaróvár and in the afternoon 219 students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, as well as 240 students of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Economics accepted their degrees.
Ahmad Faishal Wiradisuria has been chosen as International Student of the Year at Széchenyi István University during the University Awards Gala held in January at the Győr Media Ball. The young Indonesian received exceptional motivation from receiving the award, which encourages him to make further efforts in his studies.
SZEppelin, the student team representing Széchenyi István University and its SZESAT Interdisciplinary Specialized College, won first place in the Lajos Nagy University Telecommunications Construction Memorial Competition. The young people have designed a carbon-neutral measuring airship to modernise the measurements of mobile telecommunications companies and increase cost-efficiency.
Bálint Kovács, a student of Technical Management at Széchenyi István University, excelling in the world of the Hungarian motorsport, will compete in the German Championship and the Endurance World Championship in the new season as well. His team, the H-Moto Team, from now on also known as Uni Győr, has been strengthened by the arrival of young riders who will also be competing internationally.
