The Master of Architecture is offered to students who want to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to practice architecture professionally. The programme consists of two years of study, based on design studios, including individual and team-work. Our aim is to create a student-centred environment, where peer-to-peer learning is realized via the connection of students, expert academics and design professionals. The curriculum is structured on the series of Design Studios to provide students with an experience in architectural design, integrated with classes that bring an understanding of arts and crafts, building technology, sustainability, architectural heritage, urban theory and design. International workshops play a significant role in our educational system, for widening the professional network of our students and also introducing real-scale building experiences.
Structure of studies
The total number of credits needed to complete the programme is 120 credits. The courses of the programme are divided into the following categories: compulsory courses (Design Studios and Architectural Theory), elective courses in professional knowledge (Visualisation, Architectural Construction and Engineering, Urban Design, Creative Skills Development, Arts and Culture, Structural Design) and elective courses in additional disciplines (Humanities and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Economics and Law). With the chosen specialisation students receive a basic subject package and are free to structure their own curricula according to their interests. 1 credit equals one ECTS credit, and 1 credit is defined as 25 student working hours.
Language requirements
TOEFL 513 / IELTS 5.5 /oral examination, TOEFL IBT test score of 66 or any standardised international English language exam corresponding with Hungarian B2 at the Bachelors level and C1 at Masters level.
