Admission step-by-step:
- Before submission:
a. Complete the online application form,
b. Upload the required documents,
c. Indicate a maximum of three chosen academic programmes before submitting your application. Please make sure that the programmes marked are indeed the ones you intend to apply for. Please note that you will not be able to change the indicated academic programmes or modify their order or number after submission.
d. Pay the 100 EUR application fee. - Submit your application.
- Our colleagues will review the uploaded documents. If necessary, you will be asked to provide supplementary documents.
- The application will be forwarded to the Faculty for professional evaluation.
- Faculty approval.
- Language interview, if required.
- Our colleagues will issue the Order for Payment. You will be required to pay:
- the tuition fee for the first academic year (2 semesters), and
- a 130 EUR accommodation fee.
- Confirmation by the Financial Directorate regarding the receipt of the tuition and accommodation fees.
- Issuance of the Letter of Admission.

Please ensure that all formal requirements are fulfilled. Please note that professional decisions based on the submitted documents can only be made by the Faculty.
Please be advised that payment of the tuition fee for two semesters and the one-month accommodation fee is mandatory. Unfortunately, the University cannot make exceptions in this regard.
The University reserves the right to decide on the launch of the advertised programmes depending on the number of applicants who meet the admission requirements.
Professional requirements:
- Bachelor studies: Copy of secondary/high school graduation results, copy of courses studied. For the fields of engineering, agricultural and business and administration studies, evidence of the study of mathematics is required (school leaving certificate final results).
Master studies: Bachelor’s degree relevant for the Master studies. Transcript of records of Bachelor studies.
PhD: Master studies in a relevant field and the Transcript of Master studies. - Please kindly note that, in order to fulfil the formal requirements, academic document need to be submitted in notarised form.

Formal requirements:
- Only students over the age of 18 are admitted.
- Admission is granted only if students meet the professional, language, and formal requirements and pay the required fees.
- All applicants must submit the following documents in English Language:
- Completed and signed application form (please ensure that your personal data appear correctly, as shown on your passport).
- A copy of your passport.
- A notarized copy of the secondary high school diploma/Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree depending on the relevant application. *
- A notarized copy of the Transcript of Records. *
- A copy of your language certificate.
- A recent photograph.
- Curriculum Vitae (resumé).
- Motivational Letter addressed to our University.
- Academic Reference letter (Issued by your former academic institution/teacher).
*Notarization by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is necessary for every school leaving document or degree, even if the original is in English.
If the country of origin is a Member of the Hague Treaty, then Apostilled documents are accepted.

English language requirements:
- TOEFL 513 / IELTS 5.5 /oral examination, TOEFL IBT test score of 66 (issued in the last two years).
- Certificate of any standardised international English language exam corresponding with Hungarian B2 at the Bachelors level and C1 at Master’s level issued by an accredited language centre/ academic institution.
- In case the student has completed his/her previous level of studies in English, proof can be uploaded about the fact that the language of instruction was English, issued by the institution.
- If the uploaded document(s) do(es) not meet the above-mentioned requirements, the University relies on an online language interview.
Application fee and tuition fee payment process:
Application fee: EUR 100 (non-refundable)
Tuition fee payment: 2 semesters’ tuition fee + 1 month accommodation fee (non-refundable)
Applicants have two available options for transferring the application fee (mandatory before submitting the application) and the tuition fee (specified on the Order for Payment document):

An application will only be considered if the application fee has been transferred to the bank account of the University, confirmed by the Financial Directorate and all the required documents detailed above are submitted.

- Registration deadline for BSc/BA and MSc/MA programmes: 30 June 2026
- Registration deadline for PhD programmes: 31 May 2026
- Deadline to complete the tuition fee payment: 15 July 2026
- Applicants will be duly notified of this decision for the Autumn intake of academic year 2026/2027 by 31 July 2026
- Deadline for submitting a request for a full refund: 31 August 2026 (before the enrolment deadline).
- Deadline of arrival at Széchenyi István University in Győr/Hungary: 30 September 2026
