Transport Safety Conference at SZE: E-Scooter Accidents Rising, Regulation Urgent
Over the past two and a half years, 140 people have suffered fatal accidents while travelling by micromobility devices—mostly e-scooters—and injury cases have become a daily occurrence. These figures were highlighted at the fourth national Transport Safety Conference organized by SZE and several professional organizations.
Opening hours of SZE Campus Post Office to change from October
From 1 October 2026, Post Office No. 7, located on the Győr campus of SZE, will operate under revised opening hours, serving University staff and students, as well as local residents and workers.
Interior design contest: student ideas shape refurbishment of SZE’s Faculty of Law building
Students at SZE have launched a design competition for the interior refurbishment of the Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences. Teams comprising students of architecture, architectural design and law, as well as those from related disciplines, have the opportunity to submit their proposals for the redesign of the main hall, teaching and community spaces by the end of November. The best projects will compete for a total prize fund of three million forints.
Győr university self-funds major lift replacements for academic building
SZE is to replace four lifts at its academic building in Győr with new ones. The work will be carried out in two phases to ensure at least some lifts remain operational at all times. According to the plans, work is scheduled to begin in January 2027, with all four new lifts expected to be fully operational by the start of the 2027/28 academic year.
Uni-Medicampus Kft., a company affiliated with SZE, operates the Pető Pont in Győr
In 2024, Pető Pont in Győr began operating at the MedTech Health Technology Campus of SZE becoming the first development centre of its kind outside Budapest. The centre, which specialises in conductive Education, is now continuing its activities under a new structure: Uni-Medicampus Kft., owned by SZE, is taking over management from the András Pető Faculty of Semmelweis University. The reorganisation was celebrated with the unveiling of a new plaque a few days ago.
