Who is the programme aimed at? To the ones who need, up-to-date technical knowledge that will enable them to operate specific types of fixed-wing aircraft, and carry out tasks in the areas of air operations, ground handling and transportation. Complementing their existing knowledge with technical and environmental knowledge of aviation, they can pass regulatory examinations.


Structure of studies

The professional characteristics of specialized training, the subject areas leading to professional qualifications, and their credit allocation that constitute the structure of the course:

Foundational Knowledge: 10-20 credits

Control Theory, Electronics, Thermodynamics, and Aerodynamics

 

Professional Knowledge: 20-30 credits

Aviation Law, General Knowledge of Fixed-Wing Aircraft (wing structure, systems, propulsion, instrumentation), Basic Flight Knowledge (flight preparation and planning,                weight and balance calculations), Human Performance, Meteorology, Operational                Procedures, General Navigation, Flight Theory, Communication

 

Specialized Knowledge: 10-20 credits

General and type-specific knowledge for rotary-wing aircraft, performance, radio-               navigation, operational procedures

 

Practical Training: 10-20 credits

Flight Practice

Credit Value of the Thesis: 10 credits

 

Requirements for the issuance of the diploma:

  • Fulfillment of the requirements specified in the curriculum and course programmes 
  • Preparation, submission, and defense of the thesis at a specified level

Language requirements

TOEFL 513 / IELTS 5.5 /oral examination, TOEFL IBT test score of 66 or any standardised international English language exam corresponding with Hungarian B2 at the Bachelors level and C1 at Masters level.
If there is no standardised English exam, the University relies on an online interview. Applicants not complying with language requirements must enrol in a preparatory language programme. After having completed the language course and passed the requisite final examination, if there are no professional reservations on the part of the Faculty, admission to the selected Postgraduate programme is automatic.


Academic requirements

Completed and signed application form, copy of your passport, notarized copy of non-engineering Bachelor’s degree in any field of study, notarized copy of the Transcript of Records, notarized copy of your language certificate, recent photograph, Curriculum Vitae (resumé) in English, Motivational Letter in English, Academic Reference letter in English (Issued by your former academic institution/teacher)

ICAO ELP minimum level 4 required.


Health Requirements


Class 1 medical certificate in accordance with Subpart MED of Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 laying down technical requirements and administrative procedures related to civil aviation pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 216/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council.


Training period:


3 semesters, correspondence course, consultations and flight days are merged, depending on the weather (flight days are expected to be held in autumn, spring, summer, with theory lessons in winter). A minimum of 215 hours, of which 160 hours are on single- and twin-engine aircraft (Single Engine Piston, Multi Engine Piston), 55 hours are on a simulator.

Completion of the Aviation Specialist Academic Programme does not in itself entitle the holder to perform the duties, the licence to perform the duties must be obtained by passing a theoretical and practical examination in an accredited examination system of the aviation authority.
