Brewpub “Apátúr” of SZE and the Benedictine Priory becomes ambassador for Kreinbacher
The Kreinbacher Estate is aiming to create a culture of champagne drinking by building an ambassador network of premium quality restaurants. In Győr, the Brewpub “Apátúr”, owned by the Széchenyi István University and the Saint Maurus Benedictine priory, was the first to achieve the certification, joining the Kreinbacher Ambassador Programme.
In addition to high-quality, practice-oriented training and research and development, Széchenyi István University also considers it important to support the economic and social life of the region. In line with these objectives, the unique cooperation between the University and the Saint Maurus Benedictine Priory of Győr, which has established a beer house and a training workshop in the city's most beautiful baroque square, Széchenyi Square, has been created to serve education and regional tourism. In its almost three years of existence, the Brewpub “Apátúr” has become a key player in the local gastronomic and cultural life. It offers freshly drafted homemade beers and, alongside its premium quality food and beverages, it has recently become the exhibition space for a museum-worthy soda machine.
Another success of the cooperation between the university and the Priory is that the Brewpub “Apátúr” is the only one among Győr's restaurants to have been awarded the ambassador's qualification of the Kreinbacher Estate. József Kreinbacher is the founder and owner of the winery, which is justly famous for its sparkling wines. As a former student of the university, he received the Széchenyi University Alumnus of the Year award in January this year thanks to his multifaceted and exemplary activities, innovative solutions and commitment to quality.

The Kreinbacher Ambassador Program is also linked to his name: an initiative to promote the culture of sparkling wine, under the slogans of education, alliance and quality. The network is designed to introduce guests to the world of premium sparkling wines and to convey the company's philosophy: quality above all else. Among the ambassadors are Felix Kitchen&Bar in Budapest, Nana Bistro in Pécs, Erhardt Restaurant in Sopron, Hotel Vinifera in Balatonfüred and Avalon Ristorante in Miskolcapolc.
The acknowledgement was presented at a ceremony recently. The Ambassador Programme symbol was presented to the host by Zoltán Risztavok, Commercial and Marketing Manager of the Kreinbacher Estate, and Bonifác Pék, representing Bortársaság. In addition to a selection of quality sparkling wines, the newest Kreinbacher ambassador prepared special dishes and a DJ for the intimate evening, which will now promote the culture of premium sparkling wine drinking in Győr, alongside craft beers.
