Degrees Awarded at SZE’s Apáczai and Health & Sports Science Faculties
Nearly six hundred students graduated this semester from the Apáczai Csere János Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences at Széchenyi István University. They received their degrees—highly valued on the labour market—at ceremonies held in the Győr City University Sports Hall.
Altogether, around 1800 students passed their final examinations at Széchenyi István University at the end of the spring semester, of which nearly five hundred graduated from the Apáczai Csere János Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. “Our academic offering currently includes nine undergraduate programmes—including International Relations and Sociology in English—five Master’s programmes, and more than twenty specialised postgraduate courses and educational programmes,” said Dean, Dr Attila Pongrácz, at the graduation ceremony. He highlighted that a sense of vocation, professional commitment and moral integrity are key values in the Faculty’s mission.
“Today, our graduates will receive their diplomas from undergraduate and Master’s programmes—including, for the first time, our Master’s in Children’s Culture—as well as from specialist programmes preparing for the teacher qualification exam, subject-specific knowledge programmes for primary school teachers, and other postgraduate specialisations. These diplomas certify their expertise in the fields of teacher education, educational sciences, and the humanities and social sciences,” he summarised. The Dean extended a special welcome to the international students graduating from the English-taught International Relations programme.
Speaking on behalf of the new graduates, Zsanett Dakó, a graduate of the Special Needs Education undergraduate programme, delivered a farewell message. “Helping others, empathy, and a humane approach define us. I hope this spirit will always stay with us, and that we never forget why we chose this vocation,” she said.
