Demonstration Day: presenting the potentials of 5G of self-driving vehicles for research purposes
On 5 December 2023 from 13 pm, supported by the National Media and Infocommunications Authority, innovation and future technologies will meet at the Zalaegerszeg Automotive Test Track, where - in cooperation with the Automotive Research Centre of Széchenyi István University and ZalaZONE - the Demonstration Day wil be held. This event will provide a unique opportunity for the participants to have a more accurate understanding of the relationship between self-driving vehicles and the world of 5G technology.
The event will focus on ZalaZONE, where visitors will be able to get an insight into the process of developing self-driving vehicles and testing them on the 5G network through a research demonstration.
During a demonstration carried out by the Automotive Research Centre, participants will be able to get a glimpse of the huge potential of the 5G mobile network and witness the development team of the Automotive Research Centre remotely driving an experimental autonomous vehicle from the laboratory on the campus of Széchenyi István University in Győr, and during which the vehicle will drive around the test track under the supervision of a safety driver.
The event is linked to the final event of “The Road to Higher Education" career guidance programme, thus, the target group of the demonstration will be the students participating in the programme, secondary school teachers and active students of Széchenyi István University.
The aim of the Demonstration Day is to increase young people’s interest in technology and automotive industry and demonstrating the exciting current and future opportunities of 5G technology and self-driving vehicles at the same time.
