Exploratory Mission: a special programme organised by Széchenyi University for RUN-EU partners
An important goal of the RUN-EU project is to help member universities to get to know each other better and to explore the possibilities of cooperation in the fields of dual education, short advanced programmes (SAPs) regular student mobility and research. This is the purpose of the Exploratory Mission, an event to be hosted by Széchenyi István University, Győr, from 4 - 8 April 2022 for its six partner institutions (Polytechnic of Leiria - Portugal; Polytechnic of Cavado and Ave - Portugal, Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest – Ireland; NHL Stenden - The Netherlands, HAMK University - Finland and FH Vorarlberg - Austria).
The event's technical programmes will take place on 5, 6 and 7 April 2022. As an opener, the leaders of each working group will give a presentation at the Senior Management Meeting, with the follow-up events also promising to be interesting and useful.
As is generally known, part of the WP2 work package of the RUN-EU University Strategic Partnership, three Science and Innovation Platforms (SIPs) have been established to promote joint interregional research and innovation projects in three areas (future industries, education and social innovation, food and biotechnology), involving regional market and public stakeholders. The work of the SIPs is supported and its objectives are being achieved through the ongoing scientific and research cooperation and exchange of experience between researchers from the partner universities in the project’s WP5 work package. Under the Exploratory Mission, such exchanges will take place in the areas of climate change, energy, circular economy, advanced manufacturing, education, health and well-being, food and biotechnology, tourism, the creative arts and design, and cybersecurity.
There will also be meetings on dual training, short advanced programmes and agriculture. The Student Round Table, which will be attended by two students from each institution, will raise awareness of the project among students. Students from Széchenyi István University will be given a short presentation on the partner universities.
For guests the organisers are preparing additional special activities. One of these will be a visit to Audi Hungaria in Győr, the world's largest engine factory and a major car manufacturer. Visitors will also have the opportunity to go on a guided tour of Győr, famous for its Baroque city centre and its rivers, and of Széchenyi István University’s Mosonmagyaróvár campus, which is centred around a beautiful medieval castle.
