Formula 1: SZE to Showcase Tech Innovations at Hungarian GP as Hungaroring’s Strategic Partner

For the first time this year, Széchenyi István University will be represented with its own stand at the 40th Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix, as a strategic partner of Hungaroring Sport Zrt. Visitors can discover the University’s innovative activities in motorsport and the automotive industry in the FanZone area near Turn 9.

Széchenyi István University is one of Hungary’s leading higher education institutions in the field of motorsport and automotive training, as well as research and development. This is demonstrated not only by its Master’s programme in Motorsport Engineering and a wide range of specialised postgraduate programmes, but also by its elite-level Formula Student and Shell Eco-marathon teams, its key role in organising the Győr Rally and hosting the international Formula Student Symposium, its involvement in the e-sport sector, and its Innovation Park in Zalaegerszeg —located near ZalaZone, one of Europe’s most advanced automotive test tracks.

This diverse range of activities will be showcased to the tens of thousands of Hungarian and international fans attending the 40th Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix between 1–3 August at the Hungaroring. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the Arrabona Racing Team (ART) student racing car up close, try out the University-developed electric go-kart and e-sport simulator, and explore the SZE’s extensive educational portfolio through digital displays and large screens. The stand will be staffed throughout the three days by members of the University’s Vehicle Industry Research Centre, e-sport team, Centre for International Programmes and Alumni, and the ART team.

"Széchenyi István University aims to serve the needs of the automotive and motorsport sectors at the highest level as a centre of knowledge and innovation. Through our presence at the Hungaroring, we not only showcase our educational and research portfolio to fans, but also highlight our commitment to advancing both domestic and international motorsport innovation," said Dr Tamás Kolossváry, Head of the Győr Innovation Park of SZE. He added that participation in the 40th Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix forms part of the strategic cooperation agreement signed in 2023 between the institution and Hungaroring Sport Zrt.

Already on Friday, there was a great deal of interest in the Széchenyi István University booth at the Hungaroring.
