Admission requirements

Standardised language requirements:

  • English as a primary language of instruction: automatic acceptance
  • TOEFL 513 / IELTS 5.5 /oral examination, TOEFL IBT test score of 66 or any standardised international English language exam corresponding with Hungarian B2 at the Bachelors level and C1 at Masters level.
  • If there is no standardised English exam, the University relies on the Agent’s assessment as well as on a Skype interview. Applicants not complying with language requirements, must enrol in a preparatory language programme. After having completed the language course and passed the requisite final examination, if there are no professional reservations on the part of the Faculty, admission to the selected Bachelors programme is automatic.

Professional requirements:

  • Bachelors studies: Copy of secondary / high school graduation results, copy of courses studied, English language CV, letter of motivation, academic (teacher’s/professor’s) reference. In the fields of engineering, agricultural and business and administration studies final results in mathematics will be taken into consideration
  • Masters studies: Bachelors’ degree relevant to the Masters programme, English language compliance.

The Centre of International Programmes pre-screens all applications before forwarding to the relevant Faculties for professional admission decisions.

Formal requirements:

Only students over the age of 18 are admitted

All applicants must submit the following documents:

  • completed and signed application form - ensure that personal data appear as shown on your passport
  • a copy of your passport (no need for notarization)
  • notarized copy of the high school diploma or BSc, MSc degree, depending on the relevant application
  • notarized copy of the language certificate
  • a recent photograph
  • curriculum vitae (resumé) in English (no need for notarization)
  • Letter of Motivation in English (no need for notarization)
  • Academic Reference in English (no need for notarization)

The University reserves the right to decide on the launching of the advertised programmes in accordance with the number of applicants meeting the admission requirements. Applicants or their representatives will be duly notified of this decision by the 25th August.

NOTE: NOTARIZED ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL NON-ENGLISH  WRITTEN DOCUMENTS, EXCEPT YOUR PASSPORT. Notarization is necessary for every school leaving document, even if the original is in English.

  • Opening of registration web interface: 1 February
  • Registration deadline for 2019/20 academic year: 14 July 2019.
  • Decision on admission: continuous, depending on date of registration.
  • Official information on admission received by the student: continuous, depending on the date of registration, latest by 28 July.
  • Deadline for student arrival : end of August
