Job Fair: Key Economic Players of the Region Welcome Students of SZE

The Job Fair of Széchenyi István University offers networking opportunities for students, graduates, career starters and skilled young professionals with labour market stakeholders. At the event held on 14 April, major employers of the region offered approximately 150 job and internship positions to young people, who also received useful advice on CV writing and successful job interview techniques.

The Job Fair, a highly successful event of Széchenyi István University, brings together students and employers every semester. At the spring event held recently, key employers of the region and partners of the institution once again introduced themselves to visitors at their own stands.

“This year, a new feature was the organisation of preparatory programmes for students on the day before the Job Fair. In addition to presentations supporting job search, participants could take part in mock interviews, CV photo sessions and development training sessions, which helped them to prepare for the fair the following day. Some of these opportunities were also made available to international students,” said Réka Bende, career advisor at Széchenyi University. She added that at the spring event, more than thirty exhibitors presented nearly 150 open positions to young people. During the day, visitors could also learn about dual education opportunities and participation in the University’s student teams.

First-year business administration and management student Míra Imola Havasi has already visited the exhibition several times. “I accompanied my brother, who is a university student, even when I was in secondary school, because I was very interested in the institution and this programme. Now, on the one hand, I was looking for internship positions and came across many interesting opportunities in finance and controlling. On the other hand, I am also involved as an exhibitor, as a member of the Arrabona Racing Team. Our goal is to ensure that as many people as possible get to know our student competition team, which offers an excellent opportunity for young people to gain experience,” she explained.

“I am a regular visitor of the Job Fair, but previously I attended mostly as an interested participant; however, this time I arrived with specific goals. I am interested in both internship positions and job opportunities, as although I am in the final year of my bachelor’s degree, I am also considering continuing with a master’s programme,” said Félix Császár, a vehicle engineering student.

According to fellow Vehicle Engineering student Krisztián Fülöp, the event is an excellent opportunity for building connections with companies. “I am looking for internship positions, primarily in the field of mechanical development, because after completing my bachelor’s degree I would like to find employment, while also continuing my studies at master’s level,” he highlighted.

“After obtaining my degree in logistics engineering, I also plan to complete a bachelor’s programme in vehicle engineering, as I believe that with these two qualifications a wide range of opportunities would open up for me on the labour market,” said Péter Schäffer, who was looking for open positions in the field of process optimisation at the event.

Those interested in internship and job opportunities are advised to visit the event’s website, where they can find the offers provided by exhibitors. The site also features a compilation prepared by the institution’s master’s students in Human Resource Counselling, which contains useful advice for job interviews, as well as for writing a CV and a cover letter.
