The central feature of the SCM Programme is its integrated approach to logistics, business management and supply chain. Through the combination of theoretical and practical knowledge, students will be able to design, plan, control and improve logistics and supply chain processes, also in an international context. Practical courses and project work are based on strong collaboration with industrial partners. With the solid academic basis provided, students will be able to access further studies on our English language doctoral programmes.
Structure of studies
The programme consists of 4 semesters: between September and December and between February and May. The total number of credits needed to complete the programme is 120 credits (105 credits by compulsory and elective courses, 15 credits by thesis courses). 1 credit equals one ECTS credit, and 1 credit is defined as 25 student working hours.
Language requirements
- TOEFL 513 / IELTS 5.5 /oral examination, TOEFL IBT test score of 66 (issued in the last two years).
- Certificate of any standardised international English language exam corresponding with Hungarian B2 at the Bachelors level and C1 at Master’s level issued by an accredited language centre/ academic institution.
- In case the student has completed his/her previous level of studies in English, proof can be uploaded about the fact that the language of instruction was English, issued by the institution.
- If the uploaded document(s) do(es) not meet the above-mentioned requirements, the University relies on an online language interview.
Professional requirements
Master studies: Bachelor’s degree relevant for the Master studies. Transcript of records of Bachelor studies.

Programme educational objectives:
The aim of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) MSc programme at Széchenyi István University is to provide students with theoretical, methodological and practical knowledge and skills on supply chain and logistics management. After completing their studies, supply chain managers will be able to:
PEO#1 Understand and improve the operation of procurement, production, distribution and their relationships within and beyond company borders in an integrated view.
PEO#2 Design, planning and control logistics and supply chain processes, also in international context
PEO#3 Apply analytical, practical and scientific methods necessary for resolution complex problems at strategic and operational level, as well as to carry out scientific research
PEO#4 Strive to comply with ethical standards, sustainability and environmental responsibility in their practice as an employee, manager or entrepreneur
Student Outcomes:
The student outcomes (SOs) of our programme represent the skills, knowledge and behaviours that our curriculum aims to impart to our students. The Supply Chain Management MSc programme defines seven SOs (1) to (7) to guide student development as follows:
- An ability to identify, formulate and solve complex problems by applying principles, concepts, models and perspectives of logistics and supply chain management.
- The application of basic knowledge in the fields of supply chain, business, management, economics and methodology for data analysis and problem solving.
- The capability to carry out managerial work in an international environment in different fields on various levels of a logistics system.
- The ability to recognize and identify supply chain level and internal logistics problems, apply management, optimization and digital tools and technics, decision support methods independently and as a member of a project.
- The capability to design and control logistics infrastructure, technology and processes.
- An ability to acquire and apply soft skills and new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
- Acquired knowledge to continue studies at doctoral level.
Job opportunities:
The skills acquired can help the graduates exploring various carrier path. Students as supply chain manager can work in logistics sector including shipment, courier or forwarding companies, different areas of SMEs or a multinational company, such as purchasing, production planning, logistics, supply chain management, distribution or sales in local or international environment. Graduates can also continue their careers as PhD students. The master degree obtained is recognised as equivalent in the European Union.
