Structure of studies
PhD students taking part in the 4-year full-time programme of the Doctoral School are required to obtain a total of 240 credit points.
Of these credits, a minimum of 167 are required to be research-related, 64 publication-related and 9 teaching-related points.
Over the duration of the doctoral programme, students are expected to become increasingly self-reliant in their work.
In order to assess the academic and research achievements of prospective PhD degree holders, students are expected to pass a comprehensive exam at the end of the 4th semester of the doctoral programme. This exam concludes the research phase of the doctoral programme and marks the beginning of the “research and dissertation” phase.
