The study program aims to train professionals for public and private sectors in the field of urban, regional and environmental economics, planning and policies, who have innovative theoretical and practical skills and knowledge to analyse problems and relations of economic, social and ecological processes on local and regional levels. Our program pays particular attention to the analysis of future tendencies (e.g. increasing importance of cities, appearance of autonomous vehicles, innovative urban management aspects, new business models) as well as to their spatial and environmental-sustainable consequences. Students have the possibility to take part in theoretical and applied research projects, thereby to enlarge and deepen their knowledge as well as to develop their international contacts. Our graduated students can establish their scientific career at Széchenyi István University Doctoral School of Regional- and Business Administration Sciences.
Structure of studies
The courses of the programme are divided into two categories:
· Compulsory courses (112 credit):
· on theories (37 credits),
· on policies and planning (24 credits),
· on management (16 credits)
· on methodology (20 credits)
· on thesis work consultation (15 credits)
· Freely elected courses from a selected set of courses of the University (8 credits)
Language requirements
TOEFL 513 / IELTS 5.5 /oral examination, TOEFL IBT test score of 66 or any standardised international English language exam corresponding with Hungarian B2 at the Bachelors level and C1 at Masters level.
If there is no standardised English exam, the University relies on an online interview. Applicants not complying with language requirements must enrol in a preparatory language programme. After having completed the language course and passed the requisite final examination, if there are no professional reservations on the part of the Faculty, admission to the selected Bachelor's programme is automatic.

* BSc in Economics or International Economics or Geography or Sociology or International Studies or Urban Management or Urban Engineering or Urban/Regional/Landscape Planning or Environmental Engineering or Transport are preferred.

The Tourism Management MSC programme at Széchenyi István University is designed to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills and attributes necessary for successful careers in the field of tourism. Our programme educational objectives (PEOs) are as follows:
PEO#1: Graduates will possess an understanding of the latest trends and developments in the tourism industry and apply this knowledge consciously in their professional activities.

Our programme's student outcomes (SOs) represent the skills, knowledge, and behaviours our curriculum aims to impart to our students. The Regional and Environmental Economic Studies MSc programme defines seven SOs (1) to (7) to guide student development as follows:
- Develop Expertise in Regional and Environmental Planning: Graduates gain knowledge in natural resource management, land use planning, and sustainable development to address urban and rural challenges.
- Promote Sustainable Development: Graduates integrate environmental considerations into regional plans, promoting sustainable growth and conservation.
- Apply Analytical and Technical Skills: Graduates use GIS, Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA), and analytical tools to solve regional and environmental issues.
- Address Climate Change: Graduates are trained to assess, mitigate, and adapt to climate change impacts, with a focus on policy and science.
