Orientation Day

Information for students without visa

1. After arriving to Hungary (in a couple of days) you need to submit
your residence permit application on the electronical administration
system of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing ( in
shortly in Hungarian: OIF). The name of this website is in short:
EnterHungary
(https://enterhungary.gov.hu/)

2. After registration you need to select the following options:
nem application/application for residence permit/study or student
mobility

3. Submit the required documents. The list of those you can find at
the EnterHungary system.

4. After submitting the application we will communicate with you via
the system. Please do enter to your EnterHungary profile. If there is
more needed document, the notification will be sent there.

5. When you got the message about registered your application, as
soon as possible you need to show up at one of our client service
offices (Győr, Szombathely, Zalaegerszeg) to take the biometrics
(facial photo and fingerprints).

6. In case of positiv judging of your residence permit issue the card
will be delivered you by post to the responsible department of the
University. Judging process can be take for 3-4 weeks after registered
your application.

at the nearest client service of National Directorate-General for
Aliens Policing:

  • 9026 Győr, Szövetség u. 17.
    or
  • 9700 Szombathely, Kisfaludy u. 1.
    or
  • 8900 Zalaegerszeg, Mártírok útja 42-44.

2. Things you need to keep with you:

  • passport
  • 1 piece of 4x3 cm (passport photo) facial photo
  • filled registration form (attached)

3. 15-20 days after showing up at the client service will be delivered
by post your residence permit card the University’s responsible
department where you can pick it up.

Applying for a student card

Government directive 362/2011. (XII.30.) regulatesthe application process for permanent and
temporary student cards used in higher education.


REQUEST FOR PERMANENT STUDENT ID CARD:


1. A photograph and a sample signature must be taken at the Government/Document Office
(here the National Unified Card System is prepared - NEK data sheet).


2. The personal and address data on the NEK form received from the Government/Document
Office must correspond with the existing data in Neptun. (PLEASE, look at the sheet you are
receiving at the Government/Document Office and check the data before you leave!) It is
absolutely necessary to report any discrepancies and provide the correct data in the Study to
your Academic Administrator.


3. The student ID card application must be started in the Neptun system with the NEK ID on
the NEK form - Administration / Student ID card application. In the case of a first year student,
it is ONLY possible to start the application after enrolment (after establishment of student
status.)


4. If, after the termination of the legal relationship entitling a student to the use of the card
and during the period of validity of the card, you establish a new legal relationship with the
same cooperating body, and with the data content of the card still corresponding to reality -
your student card remains valid.


5. Application for a student card is free of charge.


6. The completed student card is mailed by the Office of Education to the address of the
University’s Academic Registry (TO). The administration officer in the Academic Registry will
inform you in a message in the Neptun system of the student ID card and how to obtain the
sticker required for the card’s validation for the active semester in accordance with current
epidemiological rules.


APPLICATION FOR A TEMPORARY STUDENT CERTIFICATE:


1. If your previous student ID is no longer valid (e.g. from high school), lost or damaged, you
will need to apply for a temporary student card.


2. An application for a permanent student card must be initiated on the basis of the above
information.


3. Following application for a permanent student card, upon request, the TO will issue a
temporary ID card valid for 60 days.

How to apply for TAX number/card

We can transfer scholarships only to students with a TAX number

How to apply for tax card?

Submit personally at Tax Authority:

  • Complete the form with CAPITAL Letters (available at the Tax Authority)
  • Passport
  • Residence Permit
  • Accommodation Report from the Immigration Authority
  • Student’s status certificate

You will get a certificate for your TAX number (please submit the number to the Academic Registry Office!)

Also self-funded students are recommended to obtain a TAX card if they wish to work.

You will receive your official TAX card within 30 days

How to apply for a health insurance card (TAJ kártya)

Only for scholarship holder students
(Stipendium Hungaricum / Christian Young People)
at Széchenyi István University, Győr


The subject of health insurance is mentioned during your recent
orientation sessions.
You will remember that all SH and SCYP students are insured by the Hungarian State Health Insurance, but
health care services are available only if you are in possession of the HEALTH INSURANCE CARD (in
Hungarian TAJ-KÁRTYA).
It is very important to apply for one as soon as possible after your arrival.

 

New insurance card Revalidation of the insurance card
Please note that you will need to bring the
FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION with you when
you come to the appointment to apply for a new
card. 
If your TAJ (Health Insurance) Card has expired
or is about to expire soon, then you will need to
revalidate it.
For revalidation you will need to submit the
following documents: 
  • Copy of your Residence permit card (both sides)
  • Accommodation report form, registered by the
    Immigration Authority
  • Student status certificate
  • Certificate of the scholarship (Letter of Award)
  • Copy of the Passport 
  • Copy of your Residence permit card (both sides)
  • Accommodation report form, registered by the Immigration Authority

  • Copy of the Passport
  • Copy of your expired/old card 
  If you have lost your card you have to pay 3.000
HUF 



Please be aware that you MUST have insurance during your studies and it is your own interest and
risk to submit your request for insurance as soon as possible after your arrival.

During the academic year (September-June) you have the opportunity of registering at the University for
your insurance card without needing to go to the Health Insurance Authorities‘ Offices.

If you wish to apply for a new health insurance or wish to revalidate your insurance, please bring the
COPIES of the required documents to our office (Centre of International Programmes and Alumni
Ig. 103) and we will forward them to the Hungarian National Insurance Fund.

Outside of this period, or if you wish to submit a new request or revalidate your insurance on your own,
please visit our office (Centre of International Programmes and Alumni Ig. 103) we will give you the
missing documents and after that, you should take the necessary documents to the Health Insurance
Authorities‘ Offices.

If you have lost your card you must submit your request personally and have to pay 3.000 HUF

On receiving notification, you can collect your ready insurance card (TAJ kártya) at our office (Ig103). All
the Hungarian state-financed health care services are available for students with valid insurance (TAJ)
cards, however, it might happen that you have to pay for some services like the other Hungarian citizens.

Information for Stipendium Hungaricum

The mission of the Programme

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 by the Hungarian Government. The core mission of the programme is to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and to encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract top foreign students; currently, more than 80 sending partners are engaged in the programme. The main web page of the programme is here.

Thousands of students from all around the world apply for higher education studies in Hungary each year.

In the academic recent year, numerous students can begin their studies in Hungary in the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme.

The Programme is managed by Tempus Public Foundation.

In the case of the Stipendium Hungaricum programme, you don't need to apply directly to our programs. Please, follow the Stipendium Hungaricum application instructions, and the coordinator, Tempus Public Foundation will directly forward your application to our university.
