Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme Call for Applications 2020-2021 now open

Introduction

The aim of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme is to promote the internationalisation of Hungarian higher education. Established by the Hungarian Government in 2013, it is supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and managed by the Tempus Public Foundation.

The programme aims to attract first-rate international students seeking a study destination where they can be assured of receiving high quality education and who are willing to establish long-lasting personal and professional attachments to this country and its people. When graduates return to their home countries with marketable skills and knowledge, they can build civil, political and economic relationships, thus enhancing Hungary’s international global image and visibility.

The programme is based on bilateral education agreements between Hungary and the governments of approximately 70 sending countries on five continents. The Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship now attracts more than 5,000 international students annually. More than 500 full degree programmes are on offer, at all levels and covering all academic fields.

While studying in Hungary, students will also enjoy an affordable cost of living as well as a safe and welcoming social environment with excellent public transport links and a vibrant cultural and social life. More than 90 percent of our scholarship holders would choose Hungary again, so why don’t you give it a try?
