SZE partners with Mental Health Support Network for Research and Student Wellbeing

Széchenyi István University has signed a cooperation agreement with the Hungarian Association of Mental Health First Aid Telephone Services (LESZ), aimed at supporting mental health research and enhancing student well-being. This collaboration will not only contribute to ongoing research and professional work at the University’s Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences but also promote the overall welfare of the University community.

In addition to its outstanding educational and research efforts, Széchenyi István University places great importance on the health and well-being of its students. The institution offers high-quality sports and recreational opportunities designed to support both physical and mental wellness. The newly signed agreement will further expand mental health services that will benefit all members of the University in the future.

The collaboration with the Hungarian Association of Mental Health First Aid Telephone Services (LESZ) contributes to the work of the Faculty of Health and Sports Science at Széchenyi University by engaging in mental health research, strengthening professional relations, and developing wellness programs. This cooperation was announced during the 37th National Conference of LESZ, where the 50th anniversary of the founding of the local Győr service was also celebrated.

At the professional forum titled “Seeking Trust in Today’s World,” held in mid-September in Győr, Dr. Angéla Somogyi, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Sports Science, expressed her gratitude to the LESZ leadership. She emphasized that through this collaboration, the university’s researchers will gain valuable insights from professionals working in the field, which will benefit their studies. Dr. Somogyi also highlighted that the partnership will offer students opportunities for internships at LESZ service locations, thus directly enhancing their professional development.
