SZE Strengthens Ties with a Drone Services Company
On 15 January, Széchenyi István University reaffirmed its longstanding partnership with Drónkuckó, a company offering comprehensive remote sensing services. The leadership of the Albert Kázmér Faculty of Mosonmagyaróvár and the company representatives at the University’s Smart Farm training facility signed the cooperation agreement, which covers drone technology training, support for student research projects, and international grant applications.
“Corporate relations play a crucial role in both education and research activities at Széchenyi István University, especially within the Albert Kázmér Faculty of Mosonmagyaróvár. These meaningful partnerships enable us to offer our students project-based, practice-oriented education grounded in real industry experience,” said Dr Tamás Tóth, Dean of the Faculty, at the signing ceremony held at the University’s Smart Farm training facility in Mosonmagyaróvár. At the event, the institution entered into a cooperation agreement with the Győr-based Drónkuckó.
The company, which has maintained a strong relationship with the University for years, will continue actively to support the institution through its diverse product range, as outlined in the newly signed document. Under the agreement, Széchenyi István University will enjoy discounted and unrestricted access to cutting-edge DJI drone technology distributed by the company, supporting research activities.
This collaboration will also enhance the quality of practical education. Dr Balázs Ásványi, Vice-Dean for Corporate Relations, explained that the partnership provides students with up-to-date, market-relevant knowledge, forming the foundation for their future careers. “Our faculty strives to ensure that students benefit as much as possible from the 13 industrial partnerships established over the past year, integrating them into corporate projects. Last year alone, 23 new projects were launched, highlighting the significance of these relationships,” he summarised.
Dr István Mihály Kulmány, Head of the Agricultural and Food Industry Research Centre at the University’s Smart Farm training facility, highlighted the three pillars underpinning the long-standing collaboration with Drónkuckó: joint participation in domestic and international grant applications, support for student research projects and contributions to educational activities. “A great example of active involvement in education is the national training programme for Agricultural Geoinformatics and agricultural digitalisation specialists, launched in December, where the company’s experts played a significant role alongside the research centre,” he added.
Fábián Földes, Managing Director of Drónkuckó, stated that the company would provide all necessary technical support to ensure the success of the partnership, which focusses on drone technology and agricultural digitalisation. He concluded his address with this thought: “From now on, the path to successful projects in agricultural or related training and industrial grant applications is clear, as we can offer maximum support as the European distributor of DJI.”
The agreement was signed by Dr Tamás Tóth and Dr István Mihály Kulmány on behalf of Széchenyi István University, and Krisztián Földes, the company owner, on behalf of Drónkuckó. Projects implemented under this partnership will be shared on the Agricultural and Food Industry Research Centre’s Facebook and LinkedIn platforms.
