SZE to Host the 2025 EFOTT Festival
The organizers have announced that the Széchenyi István University will host the 2025 EFOTT Festival. EFOTT, held from July 9–13 next year, has been one of the summer's most popular events for decades, celebrated as the festival for university students. In 2025, it will once again welcome current and former students at Lake Velence for an unforgettable experience.
"The University is proud to host the 2025 EFOTT, as it provides an opportunity for participants to learn more about our institution, which is now ranked highly on eight international lists," said Dr Bálint Filep, president of the university. He added, "We hope many of them will choose us for their undergraduate, master's, or doctoral studies in the future. At the event, we will showcase our European-standard infrastructure, high-quality education, research, and innovation activities, as well as our unique student life. Of course, entertainment and culture will also play a prominent role in the program. We believe the festival is crucial for young people, as it offers them a relaxed setting to explore university life and exchange experiences."
The Széchenyi István University is one of Hungary's leading knowledge hubs, particularly in advanced technologies such as digitization, drones, autonomous transportation systems, e-mobility, and precision agriculture. These areas will receive special focus in EFOTT’s programmes, providing visitors with a hands-on introduction to the University’s innovative solutions. Project-based, practice-oriented education and world-class student competition teams will also play a key role at the festival.
"EFOTT has always been more than just a festival—it serves as a bridge between University communities. The participation of SZE offers a unique opportunity to showcase the institution’s achievements in modern technologies and sciences while allowing visitors to experience the festival’s distinctive atmosphere," said Marcell Budai, EFOTT’s press officer.
The festival aims to provide a memorable experience for all students while strengthening university communities. During the daytime programmes, the “UNIverse” space will once again feature presentations by Hungarian higher education institutions, innovation projects, as well as representatives from civil organizations and the corporate sector.
