Széchenyi István University Győr Innovation Park inspires international students

The Győr Innovation Park of Széchenyi István University offers new opportunities for international students. Young people can take part in collaborations with industrial partners and research and development projects, which will contribute to their professional development - it was said at the programme introduicing the facility.

The aim of the Győr Innovation Park of Széchenyi István University is to further strengthen the relationship between the institution and economic actors, to broaden the opportunities for talent management and to provide an incubation environment for new research and development projects. The first phase of the building, inaugurated last autumn, will host training, research, business and enterprise development activities and professional programmes.

"In line with the university's internationalisation goals, the Győr Innovation Park can operate competitively in an international environment. Our corporate partners attach great importance to ensuring international talent supply as well, the bases of which are our foreign students. Cultural diversity also helps product development and innovation, and can provide new insights to solve industrial problems." – explained Dr. Tamás Kolossváry, Head of the Győr Innovation Park, this is why the international students of the university were hosted at an event to present the operation and services of the facility. Among other things, the young people got to know the university's Design Campus, the water laboratory, the business development and start-up opportunities, as well as the offices hosting industrial players.

Diana Nunez, a 26-year-old Master's student in Supply Chain Management, came to Győr from Mexico and considers it important to get to know the opportunities offered by the institution. She has been to Győr Innovation Park before: she attended a talk on János Neumann by British author Ananyo Bhattacharya. "I was fascinated by the unique building, which has a lot of opportunities for everyone. As well as providing a great space for research, it also provides a link between companies and students. I find all this quite unique," underlined the student, who sees a possible future career path in start-ups.

Jabir Ali Abdinoor, from Kenya, is studying at the Albert Kázmér Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences in Mosonmagyaróvár. "The innovation park brings the latest industrial technology even closer and provides an excellent opportunity to expand practical knowledge beyond the classroom. Together with the Smart Farm in Mosonmagyaróvár, it will further broaden the portfolio of potential research at the institution, which is a constant inspiration to me as a student," he stressed.

Toukta Sylavy, from Laos, came to the event as a student of Business Information Technology. "We were able to take a closer look at the many features of the building and the research and development that takes place here. All this motivates me to pursue a career in research in the future," she said.
