Széchenyi István University hosts an international drone competition on the last weekend of August

Organised by Széchenyi István University and Edutus University in Tatabánya, in cooperation with Cloud for Intelligent Airplace Zrt. and the Hungarian Drone and Multirotor Association, the Drone Racing World Cup Hungary 2023 international competition will take place in the vicinity of the Győr campus on 25-27 August. On the course set up in the meadow near Aranypart II, drones piloted by racing pilots will be competing against each other. The event is free of charge and all are welcome to attend.

As a founding member of the Hungarian Drone Coalition, Széchenyi István University is a key player in the drone industry, in drone research and development in Hungary, and also plays a prominent role in the education of professionals.

Students can also get involved in the world of drone technology themselves, as they can work on real-world developments with the support of the institution's Digital Development Centre, and take part in a university competition team. And the organisation of drone competitions helps to raise awareness of this activity. In the course of these activities, the institution is collaborating with Edutus University in Tatabánya, with which it has also set up a joint venture, Cloud for Intelligent Airplace Zrt.

The Drone Racing World Cup Hungary 2023 international competition will take place on the last weekend of August, organized by the two universities, Cloud for Intelligent Airplace Zrt. and the Hungarian Drone and Multirotor Association. The venue of the official championship, recognised by the World Air Sports Federation (FAI), will be Széchenyi István University this year, which will be the second international multirotor FPV drone competition in Hungary. The Hungarian World Cup, which will be the flagship European competition, will feature a field of nearly 60 competitors from many nations, including some of the world's top pilots.

The safe venue for the event is one of the city's most beautiful outdoor areas, the bank of the River Danube near Püspökerdő (Bishop’s forest), adjacent to the Széchenyi University campus, which is a popular destination for families with young children, sportsmen and anglers.

This is the place where the participants of the competition and all those interested can experience the innovative atmosphere of Széchenyi István University and the magical natural environment at the same time. The organisers encourage everyone to be part of this unique experience and follow the drone competition live in Győr on 25-27 August.
