UniMedical Center Reopens in Győr with Enhanced MR Scan Services
The Rába Medical Center, formerly located in the ETO Park Hotel in Győr, which provides diagnostic services and specialist surgeries, will reopen on the second floor of the adjacent ETO Park shopping centre on Monday 23 September as UniMedical Center. The opening hours (weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and the contact number (06-96-800-400) remain unchanged.
MRI services at the medical centre have been suspended for the past month and a half due to the move. During this period, the technicians have moved the state-of-the-art MRI machine to the new location and have re-installed the equipment.
The new centre, which is owned by Széchenyi István University, has the advantage not only of providing a more spacious and modern environment for patients, staff and specialists, but also of allowing the expansion of existing examinations. The acquisition of several high-end imaging devices, including CT, X-ray, gynaecological ultrasound, radiological ultrasound and mammography, is underway. These services are expected to be available by the first quarter of 2025 at the latest. These will be complemented by specialised services in internal medicine, gastroenterology, gynaecology, paediatrics, sports cardiology, neurology and oncology, in addition to existing services in trauma, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, occupational health and travel medicine. More information will be available on umc.sze.hu.
In addition to healthcare services, UniMedical Center also plays an important role in the research, development and innovation activities of the University in collaboration with the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences. These include the study of primitive cortical reflexes, the links between cortical function and psychological disorders, and a research programme on diagnostic and decision support systems for personalised targeted therapy for cancer patients, studies on sport-specific adaptation in adult and academy-age football players, studies on the development of the athletic heart for the prevention of sudden cardiac death, and stress tests to investigate the susceptibility to provocation of athletes for arrhythmias and hypertension.
The UniMedical Center will also provide diagnostic services at the new location with ultramodern MRI equipment.
