The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme (SH)
Established by the Hungarian Government in 2013, the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme aims to promote the internationalisation of Hungarian higher education. The programme is managed by the Tempus Public Foundation and supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
One principal objective of the SH programme is to attract first-rate international students who are seeking a study destination with a guarantee of high quality education and who are willing to establish long-term attachments to Hungary and its people. Alumni returning to their home countries freshly equipped with marketable skills and knowledge can build economic, political and civil relationships and are in a position to enhance Hungary’s international visibility.
The programme is based on bilateral education agreements between Hungary and the governments of approximately 80 sending countries on five continents. The Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship now attracts more than 5,000 international students annually. More than 500 full degree programmes are on offer, at all levels and covering all academic fields.
While in Hungary, students can benefit from an affordable cost of living, good public security, environment with an excellent transportation network and a wide range of cultural opportunities.
More than 90% of our scholarship holders would choose Hungary again - why don’t YOU try us?
