Tóth Árpád is a project manager, PhD candidate on the SzEEDS^M management programme, researcher and lecturer currently working and studying at Széchenyi István University, Győr.

Árpád graduated in Győr, completing both his Bachelors and Masters studies (the latter in Accounting and Finance) at Széchenyi, following this with a Law qualification (Law extended Economist, Finance and Economic Regulations) from ELTE.

Each year, the Tempus Public Foundation organizes a professional consultative meeting for the international affairs staff of Hungarian higher education institutions, where the focus is on current events, challenges, good practice and diverse aspects of the internationalization process of HEIs. This year from 14-16 November the University of Debrecen was host to the meeting with around 250 participants attending the event, including a team from Széchenyi István University’s Centre of International Programmes. This was the fifteenth occasion on which the meeting has been held. The central theme this year was the internationalization of institutions, that is student and teacher mobility, the reception of foreign scholarship holders and international cooperation between universities. Via lectures, workshops and interactive sessions, participants had the opportunity to become better informed about current issues surrounding all these topics.

The Bavarian Academic Center for Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (BAYHOST) invites applications for its one-year scholarship program for students from Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe for the academic year 2019/20 via BAYHOST. Graduates from Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine are eligible to apply.

In the framework of the countrywide Erasmus Days promotion, The Centre of International Programmes (CIP) at Széchenyi István University hosted an event designed to encourage greater interest in student mobility schemes for study and work experience abroad. Dr Eszter Lukács, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs at SZE opened the event with a welcome speech to participants who were principally members of staff and lecturers at the University.

Under the auspices of the Austrian Embassy to Hungary and with the support of Advantage Austria, the official Foreign Trade promotion body, the Austrian Business Circle organized a workshop held on 28. September at the Danubius Hotel Helia, Budapest, on the theme Recommendations for training and in-service training programmes to ensure the supply of specialists to Austrian subsidiary companies operating in Hungary.

Széchenyi István University, Győr, was worthily represented at the Tenth International Seminar of the CGBU by members of the University’s senior management, senior academic staff and affiliate academics who delivered presentations in plenaries or parallel sessions.

On Tuesday, 25 September 2018, Széchenyi István University held a press conference on the theme of Internationalization, generating a future supply of lecturers, researchers, students and the development of knowledge and technology transfer as tools of smart specialization at Széchenyi István University, a major project within the framework of the EU’s Human Resources Development Operational Programme (EFOP).

The European Commission and the European Parliament regard it as important that its leaders and decision-makers are able to have a dialogue with citizens. To this end, Citizen Forums are organized. Such an event will take place on 8 October 2018 in Révkomárom. The event will be held in Hungarian and Slovak. The event will conclude with a buffet lunch for the participants.

A bus to the Forum will be organised.
