Senior US academic, civic and organizational leaders came to Széchenyi István University on 7 June as part of the Hungarian Summit aimed at strengthening the partnership between the two countries. During their visit to Győr, the guests learned about the dynamic development of the institution.
The Stipendium Hungaricum programme, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, serves both the international economic and foreign policy objectives of Hungary and helps the competitiveness and development of Hungarian higher education institutions. In the context of the internationalization of Hungarian higher education, the Tempus Public Foundation, a key player in the process, held a special meeting of its Board of Trustees at Széchenyi István University, which, thanks to the scholarship programme run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, has students from 70 countries around the world.
During the educational programme of sport diplomacy advisors at Széchenyi István University, which is unique in Europe, students deepen their theoretical knowledge through practical examples. This is the purpose of the now traditional study trip that participants can spend in Barcelona. During the excursion the students of the institution could visit major sports facilities, including the stadium of FC Barcelona, and could meet sports professionals of the Catalan metropolis. The trip was organised and led by the founder of the training programme, dr. Kovács Barnabás, former Consul General in Barcelona.
