Each winter, the Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at Széchenyi István University organizes its one-week international professional programme, the Winter Seminar. This year, the programme focused on freedom of expression. Approximately twenty-five participating students had the opportunity to explore the topic in depth with the guidance of Polish, American, and Hungarian experts, addressing contemporary challenges of the digital age such as online manipulation and hate speech.
Sports education and research can no longer be separated from intelligent technologies, a data-driven approach and multidisciplinary thinking – building on this recognition, Széchenyi István University is launching new research projects and academic programmes. The institution is working in close cooperation with the State Secretariat for Sport at the Ministry of Defence and the National Institute for Sports Medicine.
Széchenyi István University organised a special cultural programme for its students and local residents to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year at the institution’s Győr Innovation Park. Participants received information about the language courses launching in September, learned about the planned activities of the recently inaugurated Confucius Institute, and had the opportunity to try calligraphy, stencil painting, using chopsticks and jianzi (a traditional shuttlecock game played with the feet).
