Informations about lost and stolen objects, extraordinary incidents

1.       Valuables lost on University premises:

If you have lost your personal documents, bank card, money, uniquely identifiable valuables (mobile phone, tablet, laptop, jewelry) on the University premises, report it to university authorities:

Immediately replace any lost or stolen document certifying your legal residence in Hungary.

 

2.       Object stolen on University premises:

If your valuables, money, documents have been stolen by an unknown person from a storage place on University premises (bicycle storage, classroom/lecture hall, coat pocket, car, room, bag ...), please report it to university authorities:

3.       Valuables lost outside University premises

If you have lost your personal documents, bank card, money, uniquely identifiable valuables (mobile phone, tablet, laptop, jewelry) outside the premises of the University (in the street, in a nightclub, on the bus, in a shop....), please report this to:

(in shops and service points, you should contact the manager or an employee to report the loss)

Immediately replace any lost or stolen document certifying your legal residence in Hungary.


4.       Object stolen outside University premises

If your valuables, money, documents have been stolen from a storage place (bicycle storage, classroom, coat pocket, car, room, bag ...) outside the University (street, nightclub, shop, bus… ..), by an unknown person report this to:

Immediately replace any lost or stolen document certifying your legal residence in Hungary.


5.       Object or valuables taken by force

If someone has taken your valuables, documents or money from you by force or fraud, no matter where it was taken, or when you noticed that it had been taken or had not been returned, report this immediately to:

  • the Police by calling the 112 emergency number

6.       Loss of student card:

If your student card is lost, please inform the University authorities and arrange for a replacement at:

  • The Student Information and Service Centre on email kartya@sze.hu

 

7.       Loss of Hall of Residence room key:

If you have lost the key to your room in the Hall of Residence, please report it immediately to:

 

8.       Attack, threat, insult to a person:

If you or a fellow student is threatened, attacked, abused or if you are anywhere a witness to such an incident, report it immediately to:

  • the Police on the 112 emergency number
  • or subsequently (if the incident no longer requires immediate action on-site) to the Police on email gyorrk@gyor.police.hu

If the event took place on the premises of the University, also report it on:

 

9.       Fire detection:

If anywhere you notice a fire or strong smoke that is not connected to an event coordinated by people, report this to:

  • Disaster Response on the 112 emergency number.

* In connection with incidents on University premises, described in points 5, 7 and 8, the Security Service is also available in building K-3 opposite reception or by calling 96 / 503-449.


Information for making a statement:

In the statement please indicate:

Your personal details:

  1. name, date of birth, nationality
  2. exact address (including residence in Hungary, building and room number)
  3. contact information, including phone number and email address (if your phone is missing, your friend’s or roommate’s)
  4. if you can communicate in Hungarian or English
  5. your legal status with the University

 

Missing / stolen item:

  1. nature of item (document, valuables, money….)
  2. unique identifiers (if known, product number, phone number, serial number)
  3. description (external features, credit card issued in your name….)
  4. value

(in the case of a bank card, or a telecommunications device, the issuer / bank, service provider / and whether measures have been taken to block it)

 

Details concerning the incident:

  1. the exact location of the event
  2. exact time, time intervals
  3. a description of what happened, what was experienced, to whom it was reported
  4. whether there could have been a security camera on site

 

The premises of the University are protected by security cameras, but the use of the recordings is subject to strict regulations, information on which can be found on the information board when entering the buildings.

Please note that our security service is designed to guarantee order and security, and help to locate abandoned items can only be given in the case that there is a suspected breach of the law.

10.   If you have had an accident anywhere and need immediate medical attention:

  • You can call the 112 emergency number to request help from the Ambulance Service.

If the accident took place on University premises, when you have the opportunity, please report it

For other minor injuries, you can ask the receptionist of the building for help.
