When Széchenyi István University’s József Honfy Amateur Radio Club was founded, it set itself the goal of contacting radio amateurs as far away as possible by means of radio waves. Most recently, the listeners have embarked on an experiment no less than reaching distant countries via the moon. This particular challenge was a true urban co-production, with Győr-based Carant Kft. contributing to the University's success by providing the appropriate antenna.

The Széchenyi István University team finished in second place at the Építők Sailing Cup in Balatonfüred. The team showed their talent and commitment to the sport aboard the Jégvirág (Ice Flower).

The Academic Day has been held at Széchenyi István University since 1994 to mark the anniversary of the birth of the institution's namesake, Count István Széchenyi. At this year's celebration, doctorates were conferred and prestigious awards were presented to those who have made a significant contribution to the development of the institution.
