Széchenyi István University signed a cooperation agreement with Audi Hungaria School on 8 May. Under the agreement, students of the school's dual vocational training programme will be able to take advantage of the possibility of credit transfer in the university's Bachelor's degree programmes in Business and Management and Commerce and Marketing, which can significantly shorten their time spent studying.
Dr. Bálint Filep, President of Széchenyi István University, was awarded the Ferenc Kemény Award in recognition of his outstanding work in the field of sport. The award ceremony took place on 6 May, on the Hungarian Sports Day.
Students from Széchenyi István University returned home from Portugal in early May, where they worked on Bosch-related projects together with young people from several universities as part of a short mobility programme. The practical tasks and the final exam at the end of the programme showed that the students from Győr performed outstandingly well.

MEFOB Fest, the third of Hungarian University College National Championships, was the biggest ever event in Hungarian university sport. The host city of Győr won the most gold medals, ahead of the University of Pécs and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
More than 300 students presented their projects and artworks at the Széchenyi István University's Scientific and Art Students' Conference (TDK) and Talent Day on 24 April. This year, for the first time, the event also included a Tourism Olympics, where the contestants competed in practical tasks.

Széchenyi István University’s team finished in second place from the eight competitors at the Gránit Bank Universities Regatta, organized as a side event of the European Rowing Championship in Szeged. First place went to the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and third place to Corvinus University of Budapest.
The opening of the Pedró-Inno Bakery and Bistro at the Innovation Park of Széchenyi István University in Győr serves both the citizens of the university and the city. The shop, which was officially opened on 24 April and offers quality food and drinks, is a joint venture between Pannon Famulus Ltd, wholly owned by the institution, and Pedró Pékség Ltd.
On 26 April, a total of 26 top officials from 14 foreign states' representations in Hungary, including four ambassadors, were hosted by Széchenyi István University. The event highlighted how modern infrastructure enhances the quality of education and contributes to forward-looking research and development.
More than ever before, thirteen sports and more than a thousand participants will take part in the Hungarian National University and College Championships Festival, or MEFOB Festival, in Győr. From 30 April to 3 May, Széchenyi István University in Győr will host the biggest student sports event in Hungary. Between the competitions, of course, there will be social programmes and evening parties.
"Hommage in black and white: a tribute to the city of Győr and Széchenyi István University" was the title of an exhibition opened at the Innovation Park of Széchenyi István University in Győr on 19 April. The exhibition of the works of Ferenc Nagy, photographer, will be open for a month.
The Széchenyi István University has signed a cooperation agreement with the HUN-REN Centre, responsible for the management and operation of the independent research network, and its Research Centre for Energy Sciences, Research Centre for Natural Sciences and for Research Institute for Earth Physics and Space Sciences. The partners have concluded agreements to coordinate their professional research activities and to establish a framework for cooperation in order to achieve scientific results.
The third week of April was all about relaxation at Széchenyi István University: numerous leisure and sports programmes, concerts and parties awaited the students and interested external visitors at theSzéchenyi University Days. Follow The Flow, Valmar and AWS, among others, performed on the main stage of the Bridge Student and Teacher Club, while fans could also meet Olympic champion water polo players during the daytime programmes.
Széchenyi István University has entered into a partnership with the Diocese of Győr to strengthen education, talent management and career guidance. The agreement, signed on 18 April, covers a total of seven primary and secondary schools. Within the framework of the cooperation, a unique optional subject entitled "Values and Challenges" was launched at the university.

The student team of the Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Széchenyi István University has achieved the best results ever in the European regional final of the annual international space law moot court competition. The trio of Dorina Bosits, Barbara Horváth and Leon Maszlov finished in 6th place at the prestigious international competition.
Students of the Széchenyi István University had the opportunity to get acquainted with several United Nations (UN) institutions based in Budapest at a programme held on 10 April at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Nearly half a thousand competitors from 20 countries competed for the championship titles at the Olympic qualification national championships held in the Duna Arena in Budapest between 9-12 April. The competitors of the UNI-Győr Swimming Sports Club won 8 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals in the extremely strong field. Dalma Sebestyén, a student of Széchenyi István University and one of the ambassadors of the MEFOB FEST, collected eight medals - including four golds - on her own.
The third and final round of the three-game final was held on 14 April at the Győr Ice Sports Centre. The team of Széchenyi István University, UNI Győr ETO HC, competed for the Andersen League Challenge Cup against Lehel HC from Jászberény and won it with their third victory.
László Barabás, painter, graphic artist and highly valued lecturer of the predecessor of the Széchenyi István University's Apáczai Csere János Faculty of Pedagogy, Humanities and Social Sciences, has been awarded the M5 Art Salon Prize for his half centtury contribution to and his participation in the multifaceted shaping of Győr's artistic life. Dr Glenn Tiffert, a professor at Stanford University's Hoover Institution in the United States, highly appreciates the development of Széchenyi István University in recent years. He delivered a packed lecture on securing supply chains at the Győr Science Park on 9 April. According to the researcher, the institution works closely with industrial players in an exemplary manner, assisting students in their practical training.
This year's Digital Agricultural Fair, one of the most important agricultural events in the region, was held at the Széchenyi István University's Albert Kázmér Faculty of Mosonmagyaróvár, on 10 April. Among the exhibitors were the most important market players of the sector, as well as the research and educational units of the university. The aim of the programme is to enable the future generation of young farmers to learn about and apply digitisation and precision farming solutions to the whole food production process.
The April Job Fair of Széchenyi István University was very popular among the students of the institution, who had the opportunity to get in touch with nearly fifty companies and institutions. Many of the young people find their internships and even jobs at the biannual event.
The satellite construction section of the SZESAT Interdisciplinary Special College of the Széchenyi István University has achieved a significant international success by being the first Hungarian university team to qualify for the European Space Agency (ESA) Fly Your Satellite! programme. At a workshop in the Netherlands, the students of the institution presented the current stage of their SZESAT-1 satellite.
Széchenyi István University is striving to become the number one higher education institution in Hungary in the field of motor sport. In this spirit, the Uni Győr WMS go-kart team was established at the beginning of the year, which was announced at a press conference on 28 March. Patrik Lipovics was also introduced at the event, the KMS Europe karting team's driver and winner of last year's RMC Hungary championship, who will also be working more closely with the university in the future.

In two weeks' time, on 15 April, the Széchenyi István University will launch the biggest student event of the spring, the Széchenyi University Days. The event will feature sports programmes, games and performances, but the main focus will be on entertainment, with Valmar, WellHello, Follow The Flow and AWS among the bands performing at the festival.
The Hungarian University-College National Championship or MEFOB Festival, will be held in Győr, Hungary, with more than a thousand participants in thirteen sports. The ambassadors of the event, students from the host Széchenyi István University - Dalma Sebestyén, Olympic swimmer, Bence Szabó, world and European silver medallist rower and Zalán Lang, captain of the Győr men's handball team - are raising awareness of the importance of physical activity and urging everyone to come to Győr to the biggest Hungarian university and college sports event.
Orsolya Lukács and Márk Szalay, students of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics of Széchenyi István University, successfully participated in the 24th International Accounting Week in Lódz, Poland, where nearly 90 students from 15 European countries competed in teams of four. Their instructor, Dr. Katalin Borbély, successfully prepares the participants year after year.
The teachers of the Albert Kázmér Faculty of Széchenyi István University won valuable professional awards at the Agriculturalist of the Year Awards, which brought together the best of the agricultural sector. This demonstrates the high quality of the institution's traditional and new areas of training and research related to sustainability and agricultural digitisation.
Since September 2021, the Széchenyi István University has included backgammon as an optional course in its sports studies. A minor sensation was created at the selection trials for the World Championship, as one of the institution's teachers and one of its students were selected for the six-member national team preparing for the World Championships in Sweden this summer.
Széchenyi István University hosted a highly successful event, PlayIT, on Saturday 23 March: the national gamerexpo was attended by nearly three thousand people. The event attracted people of all ages and offered fun for the whole family, with several venues on campus for gaming and e-sports enthusiasts.
Széchenyi István University participated with two teams in this year's Hungarian University and College National Championship (MEFOB) ice hockey tournament. After winning the silver medal last year, the students from Győr won the final this year and were able to stand on the top step of the podium.
The Széchenyi István University is continuously improving its infrastructure and renovating its buildings, the latest stage of which is the completion of the energy upgrade of the buildings I, III and IV of the János Apáczai Csere János Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. The completed investments were viewed on site by Prof. Dr. Csaba András Dézsi, Mayor of Győr.
Makszim Dmitrovich Krat Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship student from Ukraine has been dedicated to get admitted to Széchenyi István University, and has taken advantage of the institution's free language courses to learn English and continue his studies here. The young man, who came to Hungary with his family to escape the war, quickly grew to love Győr, where he found a home with his loved ones.
Dr. István Szászi, Head of the Bosch Group in Hungary and the Adriatic region was the guest of the Spinoff Extra event at Széchenyi István University. The company is one of Hungary's largest employers and an important industrial partner of the institution. In addition to his own life story, the top manager also spoke about innovation, turning an idea into a product and leading a business to success.
On 11 March, the Hungarian Ambassador to Vienna got acquainted with the international activities of Széchenyi István University, the Innovation Park in Zalaegerszeg and the ZalaZone test track, which is part of the Széchenyi University Group. The diplomat believes that the research and development activities there represent new opportunities for Hungarian-Austrian relations.
