For the tenth time, Széchenyi István University organised the Formula Student Symposium for Formula Student racing teams with a record number of 300 participants. The event, held from 15 to 17 November, featured development presentations by renowned engineers from the motorsport and automotive industries to young people from many countries.
Széchenyi István University has been ranked in the 501–600 range in the newly published Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Ranking, released for the first time on 21 November. In 2003, the International Symposium on Business Information Science started in Győr, and twenty years later, it returned to Széchenyi István University. Széchenyi István University and the Győr Ballet have signed a cooperation agreement in order to implement a career model for students of dance and to turn young people into dance-loving audiences. The long-term goal of the partnership between the institution and the company, which is 45 years old this year, is to create a regional dance training centre in the region.

A groundbreaking research initiative involving Széchenyi István University is underway, with the University playing a key role in a European Union project that deploys a satellite to monitor drought-prone regions across Hungary. As part of this initiative, the University's Albert Kázmér Faculty in Mosonmagyaróvár is analysing data received from space to better understand and mitigate the impacts of drought.
Széchenyi István University is launching a much-needed Master’s programme in Health Psychology in Western Hungary starting this February in a correspondence format, designed to address the region's demand in this field. The two-year programme, offered by the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences, will commence in Hungarian in the spring semester, while an English-taught, full-time version will be available for international students from the autumn semester onward.
Several health technology developments are currently underway at Széchenyi István University. One of them allows patients to perform the physical exercises necessary for their rehabilitation in their own homes. The AI-based software not only assesses the accuracy of movement sequences but is also capable of providing the attending physician with a comprehensive report.
On October 25, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cuba, received the "Doctor Honoris Causa" award from Széchenyi István University in recognition of his decades-long career and contributions. An international conference on sustainable mobility and transport, co-organised by the Audi Hungaria Faculty of Vehicle Engineering and the Automotive Industry Research Centre at Széchenyi István University, brought together automotive researchers and industry experts to present their latest findings. The staff of the University of Győr discussed opportunities for future cooperation with more than forty existing and potential partners.
Two students from Széchenyi István University, Fanni Lőrincz and Balázs Szőnyi, have developed a solution based on artificial intelligence models that allows the user to talk to the device as if it were a living human being. Their aim was primarily to help socially isolated people and people with mental illnesses and to prevent the development of such illnesses. Their application recently won the BoschxRichter Gedeon Industrial Innovation Award.
The chess department of the Széchenyi István University Sports Association (SZESE), which has been operating for 50 years, and the Győr Chess Club hosted the Spanish Club D Escacs Llinars and the Greek Skakistikos Omilos Leon Kantia on the campus of Győr in the framework of an international programme.
Budapest Design Week is an event of international importance, presenting all areas of the Hungarian design profession, which will be organised by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency from 10 to 20 October this year. As part of the series of events, design students from Széchenyi István University had the opportunity to present their work in a group exhibition. The Győr-based institution's first Budapest exhibition, entitled “Formanyelvek (Principles of Form)”, opened on 10 October and was hosted by the nationally renowned Jászi Gallery.

The Kautz Conference on Business and Economics, held between 10 and 12 October, brought together researchers from twenty-one countries from four continents to present their work on global challenges and to develop academic links.
The University Library and Archives of Széchenyi István University is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and a conference entitled "Digital Transformation in Public Collections" was organised to mark the occasion. At the opening ceremony of the professional day, the University's management and the national higher education library and archives associations gave recognition to the celebrating institution.
The world-renowned Fulbright Scholarship, which this semester brought 32 US professors to Hungary, was recently hosted by Széchenyi István University in Győr, Hungary, together with the Hungarian-American Fulbright Commission.
