Taking the already existing partnership to a new level, Széchenyi István University and Mapei Ltd., a manufacturer of chemical products for the construction industry, have signed a cooperation agreement. The aim of the cooperation is to strengthen the practice-oriented education of the Faculty of Architecture Civil Engineering and Transport Sciences in order to enhance the professional knowledge of students.
Széchenyi István University has signed a strategic agreement with Bábolna Tetra Ltd. and Bábolna Brojler Ltd., leading companies in Hungarian poultry farming, at the 37th Bábolna Farmers' Days. In addition to the implementation of the University’s practice-oriented education strategy, the cooperation includes the development of a portfolio of services for the agri-food industry and the competitive sector, as well as the deepening of R&D and innovation work.

The rally was a resounding success, drawing record crowds who not only enjoyed the thrilling displays but also gained deeper insights into the world of motorsport through the University's programmes.
Around 400 students started their studies at the Albert Kázmér Mosonmagyaróvár Faculty of Széchenyi István University in September. This year, the number of first-year students has grown by nearly 65 percent, building on last year's 43 percent increase. This surge occurred despite the fact that programme entry thresholds remained unchanged or, in many cases, they were even raised. Students were welcomed at the Faculty's opening ceremony, where prestigious awards were also presented.
This academic year, Széchenyi István University is launching three Double Degree Programmes with Portuguese, Indian and Italian universities, for which application is open to students until 15 September 2024. The four semester programmes include one and two semester stays abroad, for which substantial scholarship support is available.

The Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Széchenyi István University opened the new academic year with an uplifting ceremony at the University Concert Hall. The fourth edition of the Audi Development Camp, a short study programme organised by Széchenyi István University and Audi Hungaria, has come to an end. During the one-week programme, which provided micro-certificates, students from 20 countries worked on simulating the powertrain of an electric vehicle.

Highly respected professionals with Formula 1 experience, still active in the world of international motorsport, will be transferring their knowledge to applicants for the Master's programme in Motorsport Engineering at Széchenyi István University. The English-taught programme, which will start in February 2025, is open to students from several continents who are interested in design engineering, primarily with a Bachelor's degree in engineering. Renowned partner teams will also help in gaining skills in the design and testing of racing vehicles.
Two students from Széchenyi István University competed at the Paris Olympics that ended on Sunday. Kincső Takács, a Bsc student in Tourism and Catering, finished 8th in the final of the women's canoe 200m single event. The canoeist from Győr missed out on immediate qualification in the preliminaries by a photo finish, but in the semi-finals she took fourth place, qualifying for the final.
Effective August 1, Széchenyi István University has assumed the management of the Győr Dance and Visual Arts Primary School, Vocational Secondary School and Dormitory. Celebrating its tenth year of existence, the Arrabona Racing Team, a student led and operated racing team of Széchenyi István University participating in the Formula Student series, won the FS East at ZalaZone in Zalaegerszeg on the first weekend of August, and a week earlier finished third on the Red Bull Ring in Austria. For the 15th time, the European DragonBoat Federation organised the EDBF European Nations Dragon Boat Championships 2024, which were held this year from 4-7 July in the Czech Republic, at the Ráčice racecourse near Prague. Hungary topped the medal table. The success of the event was helped by the athletes of the Rába Dragon Boat Club, ten of whom are students of Széchenyi István University.
For the 56th Kékszalag Raiffeisen Grand Prix sailing race, for the first time this year all boats will be equipped with a tracking device, which, together with the corresponding online application, was developed by the Digital Development Centre of Széchenyi István University in cooperation with Hungarian Telekom and the Hungarian Sailing Federation. The innovation allows the continuous monitoring of the competitors' progress and provides background support to the organisers.
The Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure (NHERI) Graduate Student Council organized its international conference for the second time not long ago. Five students of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Transport Sciences of Széchenyi István University presented their research at the online discussion, and one of them was also the main organiser of the event.
